Violet Grohl, the 19-year-old singer-songwriter and daughter of Foo Fighters’ Dave Grohl, has spoken out against male musicians with ‘attitude problems’. In a recent interview, she expressed her frustration with the hypocrisy of men in the hardcore scene who claim to be progressive but don’t welcome women into their spaces. Her debut album, ‘Be Sweet To Me’, is set to be released on May 29 and features tracks like ‘Cool Buzz’, which tackles the issue of misogyny in the music industry.
Grohl also discussed being dismissed as a ‘nepo baby’ and the importance of her friendships with female musicians, such as Persia Numan. She urged her male peers to ‘sit down, be quiet and play their music’, stating that it’s time for them to listen and learn. With her album on the horizon and a performance at Reading & Leeds 2026, Grohl is ready to make her mark on the music industry and prove her doubters wrong.
