K-pop’s four biggest agencies, HYBE, SM Entertainment, YG Entertainment, and JYP Entertainment, are joining forces to launch a global music festival called ‘Fanomenon’. This collaborative effort aims to create a Korean equivalent to Coachella. The concept was introduced by Park Jin-young, founder of JYP Entertainment, who also co-chairs the South Korean government’s Popular Culture Exchange Committee.
The festival is planned to launch by the end of 2027, with a long-term goal to expand to major cities worldwide from 2028 onwards. The agencies are still in the early stages of discussion, with no firm business decisions finalized. This move comes as the K-pop industry continues to grow globally, with HYBE expecting a tenfold increase in profits in 2026, thanks in part to BTS’ upcoming 82-date sold-out tour.
