Robert Plant, the 77-year-old Led Zeppelin frontman, has been named the 2026 Record Store Legend. A lifelong record store enthusiast, Plant has been visiting brick-and-mortar stores across the US and has even made a few albums himself. As a record collector and music lover, Plant has always cherished the experience of discovering new music in physical record stores.
In celebration of Record Store Day 2026, Plant visited Spillers Records in Cardiff, Wales, the world’s oldest record store, where he was honored with a permanent Record Store Legend plaque. Plant expressed his love for record stores, stating that they provide a connection between the music and the art of the whole thing. With only two previous recipients, Elton John and Johnny Marr, the Record Store Legend award is a rare and prestigious honor.
