Pooh Shiesty, whose real name is Lontrell Williams Jr., has been denied bail following his arrest for allegedly kidnapping Gucci Mane at a Dallas recording studio. The incident occurred in January, where Shiesty allegedly barricaded the studio and forced Gucci Mane to sign a label deal release at gunpoint. Shiesty faces up to life in prison if convicted of the kidnapping and conspiracy charges.
A Texas federal court judge cited ‘credible evidence’ as the reason for denying Shiesty bail. The prosecution’s case relies on witness statements, including testimony from an FBI agent about police reports from the night of the incident. Shiesty’s attorney, Bradford Cohen, has questioned the reliability of these statements, pointing out the lack of physical evidence. Shiesty was charged alongside eight alleged co-conspirators, including his father and the rapper Big30.
