Courtney Love has spoken out about her relationship with Dave Grohl, saying she’s cool with the Foo Fighters frontman but wishes he would ‘man up’ and tell his fans to stop picking on her. In an interview on The Magnificent Others With Billy Corgan, Love stated, ‘Grohl, come out with it and just say we’re cool, be man enough.’ She also called out Grohl for allegedly writing several songs about her, saying she couldn’t write a song about him ‘to save her life’.
Love and Grohl have had a complicated history, with past disagreements over the rights to Nirvana’s catalog and Grohl’s collaboration with Paul McCartney. Despite this, the two have shown signs of reconciliation, including a hug onstage at Nirvana’s Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction in 2014. Love’s comments come as she speaks out about the treatment she receives from Grohl’s ‘straight white male’ fanbase, asking him to use his influence to stop the bullying.
