Foo Fighters fans and friends have been paying tribute to the late drummer Taylor Hawkins on the fourth anniversary of his death. Hawkins passed away in 2022 at the age of 50, just before a scheduled show with the band in Bogotá, Colombia. Multiple drugs, including opiates, antidepressants, and marijuana, were found in his system at the time of his death. Rufus Taylor of The Darkness and photographer Sarah Jeynes were among those sharing memories and photos of Hawkins, with Jeynes writing: “Oh T. Thinking of you.”
Tribute concerts were held in Los Angeles and London later that year, featuring an all-star cast, including Paul McCartney and Liam Gallagher. Foo Fighters’ frontman Dave Grohl recently reflected on Hawkins’ death, saying it “made me question everything about life” and inspired much of their 2023 album ‘But Here We Are’. Grohl has also spoken about the complicated journey to find a new drummer, with Ilan Rubin now behind the drums for the band.
