Rush has played their first live performance with new drummer Anika Nilles. The band’s Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson opened the Juno Awards with ‘Finding My Way’, the first track on their 1974 debut album. They were joined by Anika Nilles, a German drummer, composer, and producer, and The Who’s keyboard player, Loren Gold. The performance marked the first time Lee and Lifeson have played as Rush since their ‘R40’ farewell tour in 2015.
Rush has also announced a ‘Fifty Something’ tour across the UK, Europe, and South America in 2027, with 24 shows in 13 countries confirmed. The tour will see the band play two sets each night, with dates kicking off in Buenos Aires in January and continuing through to Europe in February and the UK in March. The tour will be the band’s first time playing in Europe since 2013 and in South America since 2002.
