The 2026 BMI Latin Awards took place on Thursday night, March 19, at the Fontainebleau Coastal Convention Center in Miami Beach. The ceremony honored top Latin songwriters, publishers, and administrators of the past year’s most-performed Spanish-language songs in the U.S. Notable winners included Karol G, Fuerza Regida’s JOP, MAG, and Edgar Barrera. The legendary duo Luny Tunes was presented with the BMI President’s Award for their contributions to Latin music as pioneers of reggaetón.
Venezuela’s Elena Rose received the BMI Impact Award, celebrating her contributions to Latin music as a songwriter and rising solo artist. She became the first Latin female artist to receive this recognition. Other winners included Jesús Ortiz Pez (JOP) as BMI regional Mexican songwriter of the year, MAG as contemporary songwriter of the year, and Sony Music Publishing as both contemporary Latin and regional Mexican publisher of the year. The event also honored 51 first-time BMI Latin Award recipients and was hosted by BMI president & CEO Mike O’Neill and other executives.
